Henry continues to love Montessori school and his classmates (ages 3 and 5). One of his classmates is moving to LA tomorrow so the teacher has been posting some extra sweet photos of their bond.
We celebrated Henry’s second birthday yesterday, and I was in cloud 9! We picked him up from school early as they had aMontessori celebration where he walked around a sun holding the Earth two times to celebrate his two years on Earth.
We were encouraged to bring photos and treats for the kids to add to the celebration. When we showed up, Hen didn’t want to participate in doing his walk around the “sun” and cried when songs were sang in celebration.
After the celebration, we took him to an Ethiopian restaurant where we could all eat with our hands. We showed up before the restaurant opened so killed some time in a bookstore next door where Henry wanted a croissant. Being his birthday, we treated him to the huge pastry, which he ate in its entirety and spoiled his appetite.
Happy Birthday Hen! I’m so thankful we were able to celebrate as a family. You received warm wishes from friends and family near and far and a video chat/happy birthday song from your Aunt Casey, Uncle Chad, +cousins Mac and Roni in Chicago.
We invited over a few people on Saturday for a relaxed pizza party and cake to celebrate Henry’s upcoming 2nd birthday. It was thrown together last minute but was a huge success. I decided on a construction theme given the ease of decor and the fact that Hen is obsessed with the big vehicles.
Hen was so excited for his party that he skipped his nap. He was a trooper and such a doll until we sang Happy Birthday and he started crying saying, “owie owie!” Poor guy! He was tortured being the center of attention!
Happy (almost) birthday big guy! You are so loved! xoxo
I can not believe I just typed that! But yes, it’s true! While in San Diego, we took you to SeaWorld.
We saw a dolphin show, an adoptable pets performance (show), played in the Elmo playground land, rode a flying Elmo ride, looked at the seals, saw a ton of sharks, penguins, fish, and stingray, and even managed to get your lil fingers bit by a pink flamingo who mistook it for food!
While in San Diego, we had a mom and Hen breakfast date at Snooze in the Hillcrest neighborhood.
Henry wasn’t ready to leave when it was time to hit the beach so he laid on the ground for a few minutes to collect himself. Typical!
Once we arrived at Mission Bay, he was beyond thrilled to see the sandy play structure, the birds, and the basketball courts.
Hen had such a blast chasing birds and going down the slide that he fell asleep in the car reading his book to himself. This kid!!
