Radio Flyer Fun with Bubby

IMG_4906

While visiting family in the Chicago ‘burbs, Henry had a ton of fun with his bubby (cousin), Roenick.  I pulled the two of them in a wagon to the neighborhood park where we played on the swings and slides.IMG_4895 IMG_4877

The Best Part About Our Denver Trip…

The best part about our Denver trip was spending quality time with family and watching the boys play together.  Henry’s sweet cousin, Levi, is 4.5 months older than him and is showing him the ropes on this whole baby thing!

They love chasing the dogs, trading toys, and head bumping their ginormous noggins together, which is their way of giving each other kisses.

Trust me!  It is cuteness overload up in here!

That time…with the cousins

It is hard to believe that “cousin-fest 2015” was a month ago already. This, of course, is not an actual event but one that I made up to sum up the play date between Hen and his cousins.

The play date consisted of creating music on make-shift instruments (using wooden spoons, pots&pans, and Tupperware), exploring faces with little hands, and alternating nap schedules.

I could sit and watch them “play” for hours.

Watch out! It’s the Baby Train.

When Times Are Tough

When times are tough, I tend to hug Henry a little tighter.  I find comfort in his deep, soulful eyes and button nose.

His little face has a way of making my sad feelings a little less sad.  For this, I am grateful.

To put it lightly, the month of May has been awful. Just terrible!

The past week, we’ve been back on the East Coast with family after receiving news of an ill family member.

We are holding up but not doing well. I am in shock.  I am sad. I am mad. I am having all sorts of feelings.

Here we are living on the opposite coast, from our families, living the life we chose. And for what?

Are we enough for Henry? Doesn’t he deserve more than the long distance family we are giving him? Is it fair for us to have him 3,000 miles away from grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins?

I don’t know. I am rethinking everything. Our lives are currently on hold until we figure out more information about this specific illness currently affecting our beloved family member.

Please send us healthy vibes and good thoughts.  We sure do need them.

The only positive in the situation is that {Baby Beetle} is spending day after day with his nine month old cousin.

When cousins meet

It is no secret that I am obsessed with my nephew, Roenick.

Obsessed.

In fact, before Henry, I was convinced I could never love anyone more than I love him.

With that being said, you can imagine my excitement for my two favorites to meet in person.

When a DC baby meets an SF baby, you have instant love.
